How do I take the Level Test or Level Up Test?

Read information below to find out how to take your test on EnglishCentral

Your Level (Up) Test will take place on EnglishCentral (website or app) in a virtual classroom. We ask you to login 5 minutes before the scheduled session time and go to the Live! Lessons section. Our experience is that if you take the test on a mobile device it is better to use the EnglishCentral app (for Android or iOS/iPhone). If you use the internet browser of your mobile device there can be problems with the date/time settings.

If you take the test on a mobile device: use the EnglishCentral app

Our urgent advice is to use the EnglishCentral app if you will take the test on your mobile device. We have learned that if people travel around the world alot, the app works better than an internet browser on a mobile device (time zone settings). Downloads links:

Your Level (Up) Test will take place on EnglishCentral

When you schedule your Level (Up) Test it will take place in an integrated online classroom on EnglishCentral (website or app) in the section Live! Lessons.

Once you have scheduled your Level Test or the Level Up Test you can take these steps:

  • Please login 5 minutes before the scheduled time of your test, using a web browser and the EnglishCentral.com website or the EnglishCentral app for Android or iOS, go to the Live! Lessons section and click the red button 'Start your lesson' in the lower right corner of the screen. [screenshot below]

  • You will be asked to allow access to camera and microphone, please click 'Allow'. 
  • Click 'Join room' [screenshot below]

  • Wait for the teacher to join, you are ready for the test.

How do I schedule the Level Up Test (LUT)?

The Level Up Test (LUT) is a 20-minute conversation with a tutor in a virtual classroom on EnglishCentral (website or app). It measures your improvement compared to the Level Test and is similar to it in structure. You can schedule the LUT when you have completed all of your courses. Read below to find out how you can check if you have completed your courses and fill in the form to request the LUT.
