How long does it take to reach a higher CEFR level?

Estimating how long it will take you to meet your required level

How fast you can reach a higher CEFR level depends on many factors, e.g., how often you study, how much you do, if you do additional exercises, etc. Your required level (RL) may actually be further than 1 level away from your current CEFR level. If so, it can take you longer to reach your RL.

How do I reach my required CEFR level faster?

  • Meet the weekly video goals (you can find them in your englishcentral.com account and our emails)
  • Study often in short sessions, e.g., 5 times a week 30 minutes a day
  • Study at least 2.5 hours a week
  • Learn all words you do not know
    • Redo all the words you did not answer correctly the first time
  • Speak all lines
    • Get as many blue lines as possible
    • Redo all the lines that have an overall score lower than 90%
  • Quiz yourself in the "Vocabulary" and "Speaking" tabs
  • If you have the GoLive! access, take lessons with live tutors once a week
  • Try applying/practicing what you learn to/in your real life
